The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, has assured during his speech on Monday that the current counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Army advances “without lost positions”.
“In some areas our soldiers are advancing, in other areas they are defending their positions and resisting the occupiers’ assaults and their intensified attacks,” Zelensky said.
“We have not lost positions. We only have (positions) released. They (the Russian army) only have losses,” added the Ukrainian president, who stated that it is “a pressure situation” from Ukraine.
Likewise, Zelensky took advantage of his speech to thank “for each liberated position” to “each soldier, each sergeant, each officer and each general involved in the offensive and defensive actions that continue to be active”.
On the other hand, the leader of the Ukrainian Executive has highlighted the telephone conversation he had this Monday with the British Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, to address the “military needs” of Ukraine and its capabilities on the battlefield, “especially with the use of long-range weapons.
“I have thanked you for the defensive support you have given us (…). Of course, we have also discussed the preparations for the NATO summit that will take place in Vilnius (Lithuania) and the content of that meeting”, Zelensky explained.
Finally, Zelenski has stressed – after a conversation with the president of the World Bank, Ajay Banga – on the importance of addressing “the transformation of Ukraine in the post-war period” and not only the current cooperation.
