Zelensky arrives in Qatar to address the return of Ukrainian minors thanks to Doha mediation

The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelensky, arrived in Qatar this Wednesday to discuss with Emir Tamim bin Hamad al Thani the return of Ukrainian minors to their families in the context of the war with Russia thanks to the mediation of Doha.

“Qatar helps Ukraine in the return of children kidnapped by Russia. We will discuss these efforts that are present in the international coalition for the return of Ukrainian children and will also be on the agenda of the peace summit,” he said in a message. published on the social network X.

The Ukrainian president has stressed that Qatar has participated “actively” in the peace summit that will be held on June 15 and 16 in Switzerland and will be attended by some 90 heads of State and Government. Among them there will be no representatives of Russia or China.

Over the last few months, thanks to the mediation of the Government of Qatar, the Russian authorities have facilitated the return to their homes of dozens of Ukrainian minors who, in the context of the war, had been separated from their families.
