At the reconstruction conference, the Ukrainian president stressed that his “top priority” in the face of “Russian air terrorism” will be to find “urgent solutions for Ukraine’s energy sector.” “URC2024 will bring together governments, ten of them at the level of prime ministers, as well as companies and organizations, to help Ukraine,” he said.

This weekend, Switzerland will host a peace conference on Ukraine, attended by delegations from at least 90 states and organizations (with a total of 160 invited countries from around the world), although Russia has not been invited, so has ruled out that a peace agreement can be signed.

The Swiss authorities have highlighted that the summit aims to “provide a platform for dialogue on ways to a comprehensive, just and lasting peace based on International Law and the Charter of the United Nations”, “promote a common understanding on a possible framework for this objective ” and “to jointly define a ‘roadmap’ on how to involve both parties in a future peace process.”
