Zelensky announces sanctions against 185 companies and individuals allied with Moscow

29 Jan. () –

The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, has announced tonight during his daily speech the imposition of a total of 185 sanctions, 182 companies and 3 individuals, which support Moscow.

The main target of these sanctions are the companies and businessmen who have transported military personnel and materiel by rail on behalf of the “aggressor State”. These include Belarusian companies that participated in the transport operations.

“Your assets in Ukraine are blocked, the available property will be used for our defense. And we will work to ensure that other countries apply a similar blockade,” added the Ukrainian leader.

In addition, Zelensky also thanked all the allies who have collaborated to strengthen the sanctions against Russia, as well as the investigators who have exposed the ways that the Russian state uses to circumvent punitive measures.

The president has also reiterated his request to exclude Russia from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, for which reason he would have sent a letter to the main international sports federations asking them to rule on the decision of the International Olympic Committee, which is considering readmitting the Russian athletes.

“If Russian athletes appear in international competitions, it is only a matter of time before they start justifying Russia’s aggression and using symbols of terror,” he added.

Regarding the latest Russian attacks, the president has reported two fatalities and 14 wounded after a Russian missile bombardment of residential buildings in Kostiantinivka, in the Donetsk region, and has called for Western military aid and missiles from greater range.
