The images captured the moment when the military helicopter that transported Zelenski landed in the gardens of this mansion, located in the English county of Buckinghamshire.

Once inside the residence, Zelensky thanked the United Kingdom for the support given to Ukraine since the invasion in February 2022.

“Your support is a lot for us, you did a lot: you, your government and His Majesty the King (Charles III) and, of course, your people, your society,” the Ukrainian president told the British prime minister before starting the meeting. “We are grateful with all our hearts, from the Ukrainians, from our soldiers, we are grateful,” he added.

Zelenski advanced that his talks with the British leader would cover “very important matters and urgent support for Ukraine”, which he considered a matter of “security not only for Ukraine, but for all of Europe”.

On this surprise visit, the Ukrainian president hopes to speak with Sunak about the meetings he has held with European leaders in recent days, as his country prepares to intensify military activity in the face of Russian aggression.

Four people were killed in a Russian missile attack that hit a hospital in the eastern city of Avdiivka, as reported by the regional governor Pavlo Kyrylenko. “Russians attacked the city with missiles this morning, hit a hospital,” he wrote on Telegram.

The region’s governor himself published photographs of a badly damaged three-story brick building with a piece missing from its side, he also appealed to the inhabitants of the small town to evacuate it as soon as possible. “Every day that passes in the Donetsk region increases the risk of becoming a victim of Russian aggression,” she said.

Avdiivka was one of the main targets of the Russian winter offensive, which was intended to reinvigorate the full-scale invasion, but achieved only small territorial gains in eastern Ukraine.
