Zelenski accuses Russia of acting in Izium as the German Nazis did in Europe

Sep. 18 () –

Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky accused Russian troops on Saturday of using torture in a “widespread” manner in those Ukrainian territories they “occupy”, while comparing them to the Nazis in Germany.

This has been assured in his daily speech by the Ukrainian president, in which he has detailed that the exhumation work has continued during Saturday in the mass graves found in the recently liberated city of Izium, detailing that “new evidence has been found of torture against the people buried there”.

“More than ten torture chambers have already been found in the liberated areas of the Kharkov region, in various cities and towns. Torture was widespread in the occupied territory. That is what the Nazis did. That is what the Russians do,” Zelensky said.

“When the occupants fled, they also threw away their torture devices. Even in the Kozachai Lopan regional train station, they have found a torture room and found electric torture tools. It’s just a train station!” added the head of state of Ukraine.

In this sense, Zelenski has warned that those guilty of these attacks will receive a response of the same magnitude “both on the battlefield and in court.”

“We will establish all the identities of those who tortured, abused, who brought this atrocity from Russia here, to our Ukrainian land,” he said.

However, the Ukrainian president has been pleased that food and medicine are “finally” being delivered, as well as that the power supply has been restored, in the “liberated areas” of the Kharkov region.

For this reason, he has underlined the importance of rebuilding “everything that was destroyed by the occupiers”, while predicting that one day he will be able to take pleasure in similar achievements in each of the cities that “are still under occupation”.

“In Kherson, in Berdyansk, in Donetsk, in Lugansk, in Mariupol. Of course, in Crimea… Ukraine will return. Ukraine will win!” he concluded.
