Xiaomi settles patent disputes with IP Bridge, Orange and Siemens

Novus IP, the company of Paul Lin, former Head of Intellectual Property Strategy at Xiaomi, participated as a facilitator of the agreement and helped the companies involved to successfully close this licensing in a very efficient manner.

“We continue to explore licensing models that complement the traditional patent pool and bilateral model, in order to avoid time-consuming litigation and focus on innovation,” said Ran Xu, General Manager of Global Business Development and Strategy Intellectual Property of the Xiaomi Group.

For its part, Siemens noted that the agreement is relevant to both parties and they are satisfied with the agreement. “This is a very mutually satisfactory solution to litigation and we appreciate the solution-oriented approach of all parties involved in the agreement,” said Dr. Rudolf Freytag, the company’s Director of Licensing and Technology Acceleration.

This license with Xiaomi is also a recognition of Orange, the telecommunications company. “We have had the pleasure of cooperating with Siemens, IP Bridge and Novus as a facilitator, with a fruitful outcome,” said Lyse Brillouet, Vice President of Intellectual Property and Licensing at Orange.

As a result, Xiaomi will now be able to have a calmer start to the year on a legal scale.
