The President of China, Xi Jinping, congratulated the new King of England, Charles III, on Sunday and expressed his desire to strengthen “friendly” ties between their respective countries, whose diplomatic relations will be precisely 50 years old in 2022.
Xi has sent a message to the new British monarch with the premise that they work together for the common interest, according to the official press of the Asian giant. She has also advocated collaborating for global peace and development.
Carlos III’s resume includes among his milestones having represented his mother, Elizabeth II, at the ceremony with which the United Kingdom ceded sovereignty over Hong Kong to China in 1997.
