Aug. 29 (Portaltic/EP) –
Xbox cloud gaming is now compatible with more FireTV Stick devices, a new development that comes with the most reluctant update, which also allows you to customize the download of games on console and PC.
The August update to the Xbox app includes several new features for cloud gaming with Cloud Gaming (Beta), PC and console gaming, and wireless controllers, as reported by the company in its news blog.
The Xbox and Amazon partnership brought cloud gaming to Game Pass Ultimate members in more than 25 countries on Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2023) or Fire TV Stick 4K (2023) devices in June.
The update extends cloud gaming to older devices such as Fire TV Stick 4K Max (Gen1) and Fire TV Cube (Gen3), which Xbox says “gives gamers even more options to play their favorite games on the devices they already own.”
On Xbox consoles, players will be able to receive updates from Discord friends who are playing, chatting, or streaming, as long as they link their Xbox and Discord accounts. They will also be able to voice chat with them or watch their stream without having to use the Discord app on their PC or mobile device.
The app also lets you customize the installation of a game on PC and console. Specifically, it lets you choose whether to install all available downloads or just a few selected ones, in order to “save time and space.”
As far as wireless controllers are concerned, the app introduces two new options: long press the button and a shortcut to turn off the device.
