X plans to add a negative rating button on posts

X (formerly Twitter) is testing the implementation of a negative button for postsso that users can rate posts based on the relevance or veracity of the content they are viewing.

Before the acquisition of the platform by Elon Musk, the microblogging social network already tested the negative and positive buttons on the year 2021as an option for then evaluate the tweets in a similar way to Reddit’s system.

Now, X has recovered this function and is considering integrating a downvote button on postswith which users can indicate when they consider that the shared content is not relevant.

This news has been made known after finding references in the code of the latest update of the iOS applicationwhich indicate that the company plans to add the negative votes to improve the ranking of posts on the social network.

This is what engineer and analyst Aaron Perris shared in a X’s publication collected by TechCrunch, in which she shared an image of this downvote button on posts, which is shaped like an inverted yellow arrow, located next to the ‘Like’ heart icon.
