This element is sometimes used only to locate a publication that you want to review later, but as it is a tab visible to any user, it can be reveal more information about social network activity than some people want to show.
For this reason, the social network owned by Elon Musk introduced a new configuration option in September of last year with which Users could keep ‘Likes’ private, hiding this tab. However, this feature It was only released for users subscribed to the premium version.
Now, X has extended this configuration option to all users of the social network, They will be able to hide the ‘Like’ tab on their profile to prevent other people from seeing the content marked with this option and obtain more privacy.

X Engineering Director Haofei Wang also noted at the end of May the company’s intention to make ‘Likes’ private, with the aim of protecting the public image of users. As Wang explained, the public ‘likes’ “are encouraging incorrect behavior on the social network. This is because “many people feel deterred to like content that may be disturbing” by fear of retaliation from other people or to protect your image.
However, it must be taken into account that the Users will be able to see who likes their posts, and the ‘Like’ count will also be displayed. With all this, users can now configure this option to hide the ‘Like’ tab on their profile.
