World Series of Warzone, the Call of Duty tournament, arrives in Latin America

The World Series of Warzone (WSOW) returns in its 2023 edition, but now better than ever, since it will have an exciting competition of Call of Duty: Warzone in Latin America. This event promises to crown the best players of Warzone in the world and distribute more than $1 million dollars. In addition, the world final will be a face-to-face event, marking a milestone in the competitive scene.

For Latin America, the WSOW will be divided into 3 regions: LATAM North, LATAM South and Mexico. LATAM North will include players from countries such as Colombia, Ecuador, Panama and Venezuela, among others. LATAM Sur will be open to players from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Peru and Uruguay. Mexico will have its own exclusive competition for players residing in that country.

The WSOW season will consist of 3 stages: an open stage, a qualifying stage and a final stage. Each final stage will award prizes totaling $150,000 USD for each region. The finals will be broadcast live through the official channel of call of duty.

In each region, participating trios will compete on 5 maps to accumulate WSOW points. The highest scoring trios in each region will advance to the WSOW Global Finals, where they will face top trios from around the world.

During Phase I of WSOW, which includes open and ranked matches, specific rules will apply, different from those of a standard WSOW match. Warzone. For example, vehicles with turrets and the heavy helicopter will be removed, as well as in-game events such as sales, jailbreaks, resupply, and champion missions.

The WSOW scoring system is based on the performance of the players in each match. For each elimination, players earn one WSOW point, which is then multiplied based on their position in the game. This encourages strategy and the search for a good position in each game.

Now, we know what you’re thinking: “there are a lot of cheaters in call of dutyHow can I be sure I won’t get knocked out by one?” Activision knows that competitive integrity is a top priority for WSOW, so during the qualifying and final stages, all participants will be required to stream their gameplay and comply with certain configurations set by the WSOW administration. In addition, checks will be made on player accounts to ensure their compliance with the rules.

The exciting WSOW World Finals will take place in September 2023, at an in-person location yet to be determined. The best trios from each region will compete for the title of world champions of Warzone and a share of the grand prize of over a million dollars.
