() — The Maine winner of the $1.35 billion Mega Millions jackpot came forward to accept his prize, choosing to take the lump sum approach, Mega Millions said in a statement Wednesday.
“The winner is carefully considering the best uses for the life-changing prize,” a representative for the winner said. The winner came forward to claim his prize through LaKoma Island Investments, LLC, according to the statement.
That one-time lump-sum payment amounts to $723,564,144 before taxes, the statement added.
The winning ticket sold at the Hometown Gas & Grill service station in Lebanon, Maine, means the store receives “a $50,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket,” the statement said.
In a post on its Facebook page early Saturday morning, the Maine Lottery said: “We did it! Winning ticket sold at Hometown Gas & Grill in Lebanon Maine. Winning numbers can be found on our website.
The winning numbers for Friday night were 30, 43, 45, 46, and 61 with a Mega Ball of 14.
