Windows 11 virtual machines: Microsoft deactivates them without a return date

Technology lovers and equally curious people have been using the free official virtual machines that Microsoft has made available to users for all these years. Windows 11.

On a regular basis, Microsoft has been releasing virtual machines for Windows 11, which users, within a certain time, have been able to test for different purposes, but things have changed recently.

Microsoft has recently faced a series of problems with its official Windows 11 virtual machines, and curiously, since October 23, all virtual machines in the development environment of the new operating system have expired.

So users who continue using them will have activation problems right now.

In general, Microsoft replaces or updates them, but right now there are none available and they have left this message: “Due to current technical problems, starting October 23, 2024, downloads will be temporarily unavailable.”

It should be noted that the latest update for Windows 11 development environment virtual machines was released in July, then in early August they restored these previously missing machines to VMware, to expire on October 23.

Now as of October 23, developers can no longer download and properly use Microsoft evaluation virtual machines.

The Windows 11 development environment has been available in four configurations such as Hyper-V, Parallels for Mac, VirtualBox and VMware.

They are pre-designed virtual machines, based on Windows 11 Enterprise, containing the tools necessary to start creating Windows applications.

We will have to wait for Microsoft to replace or restore the Windows 11 virtual machines since until now it was an unavoidable event for curious people and developers of the Windows environment.
