Windows 11, Microsoft’s new operating system, continues to receive improvements that little by little seek to make it a solid and immensely popular product. In fact, today it received a new update that adds several features for gaming.
Via post on Xbox WireMicrosoft shared the most important gaming news included in the 2022 update for Windows 11. The first is that it presents several adjustments that will result in improvements in graphic performance.
What the heck are we talking about? It turns out that windowed games running on DirectX 10 and DirectX 11 will receive latency, Auto HDR, and variable refresh rate (VRR) improvements. Also, a calibration tool will be launched so you can select to adjust the color and consistency of high dynamic range images.
It is worth mentioning that the update also took the opportunity to increase the number of games that are compatible with Auto HDR. Also, additional adjustments were made to DirectX12 Ultimate and DirectStorage.

A new bar for the Xbox Guide button
Does it seem little to you? Then you’ll be happy to know that the new update for Windows 11 will also include a new bar that will appear when you press the Guide button on your PC-connected Xbox controller.
This is a small bar that will appear on your screen and will allow you to easily access your recently used games and launchers. With this, you will have a way to access them quickly using your controller.
Microsoft Edge also has improvements for gaming.
Lastly, the 2022 update for Windows 11 also made adjustments to Microsoft Edge, Microsoft’s new default browser. This so that it has better performance in gaming tasks.
The thing is, things like Clarity Boost will allow Xbox Cloud Gaming cloud games to run and look better. On the other hand, there is also the Efficiency mode, which reduces the resources consumed by the browser when launching a game.
