Windows 11 Mobile Link now allows file sharing between the PC and an iPhone

Phone Link, or Mobile Link in Spanish, is a function integrated into Windows 11 and Windows 10 that allows us to access the data on our smartphone, and even control it directly wirelessly.

Limited to devices with Google’s mobile operating system, Android, this could soon change after the latest preview versions where it is added support for Apple iPhones.

In this way, through the Mobile Link, users of the Apple company’s mobile phones will be able to transfer files directly without using cables or using Apple software. You will only need to have the Mobile Link application updated to version 1.24112.89.0 and the Link to Windows application installed on the iPhone in version 1.24112.73 or higher.

It will also be necessary to have iOS 16 or newer on iPhone.

At the moment, this feature will only be visible to users registered in the “Windows Insider” beta program, but it is expected that it will not take long to reach the final version if no major bugs are found.

With this function, compatibility between iOS and Windows increases, although the Mobile Link functions with the iPhone are much more limited than those we can have with an Android terminal.
