This Monday, January 6 the first day of protests would take place in the national territory. This after a group from the truckers’ union announced its intention to demonstrate against the Government’s alleged failure to comply with the agreements previously agreed with the sector.

According to transport leader Jorge García to ‘Blu Radio’, they are carrying out “permanent meetings to define the points of concentration in the different departments.” The mobilization would take place in Santander and would begin at midnight so as not to affect the return plan.
The demonstration will be led by small transporters in the region and there will be seven concentration points in total: La Polvorera de Lebrija, Vijagual, Piedecuesta, Morrorico, La Lizama, San Alberto and Berlin, in Laguna.
Among the factors that have led to the cessation of operations by this group include the recent increase in the price of diesel (ACPM) and the adjustment in toll rates.

Private initiative
Although the Executive would not be complying with what was agreed in the technical tables that were held in September 2024, the main trucking associations announced that they are not thinking about carrying out a strike, so This mobilization would be a private initiative.
Through a statement, they reported that they have not declared a zero day or hour for the cessation of activities in the national territory. In that sense, they indicated that they are in a permanent assembly and carrying out consultation and socialization processes.
“On our part you will have no problems when traveling and returning home from your vacation, as well as with your transportation tasks. “We will make any determination public with due advance notice,” is mentioned in the document.
