We get interesting news of the expected The Callisto Protocolsince before the wave of requests from the community for the game to reach Xbox Game Pass, those responsible have decided to comment on the matter with information that may not be very encouraging.
As you surely know, this title will be released at the end of this year and has become one of the most anticipated by users, who are hyped to the skies due to how promising the dark new generation adventure looks.
While the game is slated to hit Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC, rumors of a possible Xbox Game Pass premiere have been circulating, prompting Striking Distance Studios CTO Mark James to reveal that the model of said service is “difficult” in financial terms for independent studios:
“Microsoft has its own single-player games on the service, and I still think you’ll see the incumbent studios on the platform continue to offer their games there – I’m just saying as a financial model, it’s very difficult to make it work with an independent studio.” James said in an interview with TrueAchievements.

Despite these statements, and saying that Xbox Game Pass is more for multiplayer and open world titles, the director did not want to completely rule out that in the future The Callisto Protocol can reach the service:
“As an independent third-party, it’s really hard to make a linear third-person game work within those services. I’m not saying never, but it’s hard financially to make that work.”
