Game Informer contacted Nintendo for answers on whether Nintendo games would start to sell for more. The interesting thing is that Nintendo was quick to explain that this is not a trend that it will adopt from now on.

According to the company spokesperson, “recommended retail prices for any Nintendo product are determined on a case-by-case basis.” That being said, just as there is the possibility of Nintendo releasing more games that cost $70 USD, it is also possible that there will be more new titles that sell for less.

However, the answer is ambiguous. Since Nintendo could have used the “case by case” to refer in general to large productions and smaller games.
