In the same way, Jaramillo mentioned that the experts are carrying out work in order to find out what was the real reason for the fall of the bridge, adding that This had been without any problem for more than 40 years, to the point that, during all that time, it was able to support the weight of the tractor-trailers that traveled between the port of Buenaventura and Bogotá.

The Minister of Transportation, Guillermo ReyesFor his part, he expressed his condolences for the two uniformed officers who lost their lives at the place and time of the events. Similarly, he mentioned that work is already underway on the restructuring of the bridge.

(These are the special measures to deal with crises in San Andrés).

Similarly, Camargo did not hide his surprise at the facts, assuring that maintenance was being carried out on the bridge on a recurring basis: “Three months ago it was reviewed and reported no failures. We are keeping an eye on the area, we are on high alert and we have made all the recommendations to road users to take alternate routes”.
