Bianca Balti, who was a Victoria’s Secret modelrecently shared about her battle with ovarian cancer. Over the weekend she was taken to the hospital where she was admitted to the emergency room due to severe abdominal pain.
“That’s when I found out it was stage 3C ovarian cancer,” Balti wrote along with a series of images and videos about his stay at the hospital
“I have a long road ahead of me, but I know I will get through it,” she wrote. “For myself, my loved ones (my daughters are at the top of the list) and all of you who need strength, you can borrow some of mine because I have plenty.”
However, the model was already aware that she could develop cancer. Due to a series of chance events at the end of 2022, Balti had her genes tested and discovered that she was a carrier of the BRCA1 gene.
It was then that he found out that had a 50 percent chance of being diagnosed with breast cancer, as well as a 30 percent chance of being diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

By December of that year, Balti underwent a preventive double mastectomy to reduce the risk of breast cancer.
“The surgery went well, I had a nice pain when I woke up, they gave me some things for the pain and now I’m in my room,” the model explained on her Instagram account at the time. “Guys, nothing, I just wanted to give you an update, I’m very happy… that’s all, I’ll keep giving you updates even if you don’t give a damn.”
“I would like my girls to find in me the strength to act if one day they too are diagnosed. Because I love life too much not to do what I can to preserve it. I was proud to set a date, impatient to wait. But now that the time has come, I don’t feel like it. I feel fragile. Afraid of having to depend on others. Terrified of the pain I will feel. Heartbroken at having to give up a part of my body that has defined my femininity until now,” were her words before entering the operating room.
Balti is the mother of two girls, Matilde and Mia, to whom she wrote on that occasion “Mom is going to have surgery because she loves life too much.”
