Córdova was born on July 18, 1948 in Bremerhaven, Germany. She later moved to the United States and ventured as an activist in 1970, when she joined the lesbian rights organization in Los Angeles.
Eight years later she participated in the National Conference of the Lesbian Feminist Organization.
Throughout her life she developed different projects to promote culture, education and inclusion of the lesbian community.
He died on January 10, 2016 at the age of 67, due to a brain tumor.
According to the Doodle explanation that Google published, Lynn Harris Ballen, Jeanne Córdova’s life partner, said that before she died, the activist wrote a letter about death to her community and said:
“It’s wonderful to have had a cause in life: the freedom and dignity of lesbians. I think that’s what lesbian feminism is really about, sharing. We built a movement by telling each other our lives and thoughts about what life should be like. We cut against the current and rethought almost everything, leaving enough undone for our daughters to reinvent themselves.
