( Spanish) – With the arrival of November, only some municipalities in Mexico will have to modify their clocks. These are the places affected by the arrival of seasonal time in the country.
The sanction of the Time Zone Law promoted by former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador in November 2022 put an end to daylight saving time in Mexico.
From that moment on, only some municipalities in five Mexican states must turn their clocks back one hour, given their proximity to the United States and the entry into force of winter time in that country.
When do the hours change in some states of Mexico?
As established by law, the seasonal schedule will apply only on the northern border of the country starting on the second Sunday in March and ending on the first Sunday in November of each year.
In 2024, the one-hour time change will take effect from November 3, according to the National Meteorological Center of Mexico (Cenam).
Starting on Sunday, November 3 and until March 9, 2025, 36 Mexican municipalities, located in five states bordering the United States, must turn their clocks back one hour.
