WhatsApp will allow video calls for up to 32 people

“We are rolling out call links on WhatsApp starting this week so you can share a link to start a call with one touch. We are also testing secure encrypted video calling for up to 32 people,” Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a Facebook post.

According to App Annie, Latin America is the third market that uses the WhatsApp video call function the most in the world. However, the largest markup is India with 390.1 million monthly users.

How to activate the link of video calls in WhatsApp?

In a very similar way to what happens with other video conferencing applications, such as Meet, the idea is that calls can be activated more easily and at any time. Part of this plan is that access can be simplified by way of invitation.

In order to create the link, you just have to open the app, go to the calls section and look for the option: create a call link. The menu will display the option to schedule a meeting or open a call at that time, similar to how it happens with other platforms.

The invitation link can be to video calls or voice calls, depending on the user’s preference. After obtaining the link, it can be pasted in a WhatsApp conversation or group, also in other apps or sent by email.

This option will be activated gradually from the last week of September 2022, so it may take a few days for some users to have it available, but it will reach everyone.
