The ‘Chat Lock’ is an option that offers the possibility of blocking conversations in order to password protect those most personal chats and that can only be seen by the user.
In other words, by activating this feature, in order to read or send messages, you will need to unlock these chats with device authentication. That is, with the access code of the phone, Face ID or fingerprint.
Also, this option allows you to hide the contact name and content when a notification is received.

How to activate this function
1. Go to the information section of the chat you want to protect (also found under ‘View Contact’) and select the ‘Chat Lock’ option.
2. Turn on the ‘Lock this chat with fingerprint’ or ‘Lock this chat with Face ID’ option. Please note that the name may vary depending on the authentication method you have configured on your phone.
3. Click on the ‘View’ option to be able to view your chat in the ‘Blocked Chats’ folder.

Remember that in order to enable this option in your WhatsApp account, your device must have an active authentication mechanism. For example, an access password or fingerprint.
If you have not configured it yet, the application will request it when doing the process.
Besides, note that all protected chats can be found in the ‘Blocked chats’ folder and that this option can be activated both in group conversations and in silenced ones.
In the case of calls, these will not be blocked. That is, if you receive a call from an individual or group chat, it will continue to appear.
