WhatsApp channels are a method of communication, where Only administrators can send messages, which may consist of text, voice, images, videos, stickers or surveys. Regarding privacy, channel administrators they will not share their phone number or profile pictureneither will the users of the channel share it with the rest of the subscribers.

At the moment the messages in the channels are not end-to-end encrypted, but they are thinking of implementing this option in the future. The messages in the channels will stay for 30 days, but you will have the option of having them disappear even sooner. Initially, the channels will be available in Colombia and Singapore, to later expand this option to more countries.
The channels will have options to highlight them from among the list of all those available and also administrators can be supported through the payment services offered by WhatsApp.
