The way WhatsApp Events work for groups doesn’t differ substantially from what we’ve seen in communities, allowing you to create an interactive message that other people can reply to in order to confirm their attendance. In addition to allowing addresses, WhatsApp events also make it possible to embed conferences, in case you want to schedule a group audio or video conversation.
This feature is a great help when planning meetings in physical locations, which normally required keeping a rather cumbersome manual count of users and options or resorting to external applications and surveys.
Initially, Group Events are only available for the standard version of the application, but they should soon also reach WhatsApp Business. If the icon still does not appear, it is because the launch will be carried out progressively.
Beyond Events, the messaging app is working on important changes through the beta channel. Some of these previously unseen features are the ability to hide group chats in Communities, a greater number of visual themes, a redesigned status editor, and improvements to the options for making mobile and desktop video calls (with up to 32 people and focus on the interlocutor), just to mention a few new features.
