Managing contacts from linked devices
Until now, the only place you could add contacts was from a mobile device. Although on the rest of the linked computers, such as desktop computers, you could see the added people or search for them to start a conversation, there was no way to add them from them.
According to the messaging application, contacts can now be added and managed from WhatsApp Web and Windows, and it is also planned that later it can be done from other linked devices.
The goal of this feature is to simplify the way you privately add and manage contacts from multiple devices.
Additionally, the company noted that it now has an option to save a contact exclusively to WhatsApp.
“These WhatsApp contacts are ideal when you share your phone with other people or if you want to separate personal and business contracts by managing more than one account on your phone,” the app said.
Contacts saved on the platform will be protected in case the device is lost or changed.
Custom lists
Earlier this year, WhatsApp introduced the chat filters feature, which works to find messages faster. Under this same idea, the app announced the launch of personalized lists.
The lists help highlight the most important conversations for the user, whether family, work or even the community where they live.
To create a list, tap the plus sign (+) in the filter bar at the top of the chats tab to create one, or press and hold a list to edit it.
Similar to favorites, both groups and individual chats can be added to a list and the created lists will appear in the filter bar.
