WhatsApp already allows you to use any emoji to react to messages

Goal has announced that WhatsApp’s message reactions feature has been expanded and that users will be able to use any ’emoji’ they want to react to messages in chats.

Until now, users could add an emoji to a given message in chat to represent an emotion generated by it. To do this, they just had to press it and choose one of the five available: ‘Like’, ‘Love’, ‘Smiley’, ‘Surprised’, ‘Sad’ Y ‘Thank you’.

In the case of individual conversations, both users could view the ’emoji’ chosen by one of the two, while in group chats all members of said conversation could Know the reactions of the rest.

At the beginning of last April, WABetaInfo warned that the application had implemented a new update through the Google Play Beta Program that integrated a button after these six reactions.

In this way, it suggested that users could react to messages using an emoji different from those mentioned above, although it was not specified what these would be.

Now Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has communicated Through his personal Facebook account that the company is deploying “the possibility of using any emoji as a reaction on WhatsApp” through said button.

In this statement, the executive director has included a series of emoji currently available in the instant messaging application, such as a robot, some chips, the symbol of 100 or a clenched fist.

This indicates that all the emojis are already available as WhatsApp reactions, so that you can react to a certain message. without having to swipe right on the screen to respond to it with an icon.

From WhatsApp they have pointed out that, as part of this update, they can also be selected different skin tones for emojissomething that is already possible from the platform chat.

Likewise, they have recalled that, as well as personal conversations and calls, the reactions will be kept end-to-end encrypted on WhatsApp.
