WhatsApp has launched the function message editing for the testers of the latest beta version of the social network for Androidwith which you can correct a message that has already been sent, editing it later within fifteen minutes of sending it, both in chats with a recipient and in groups.
The instant messaging platform began to develop in June of last year a function that allows users to edit your text messages once they have been sent. In this way, it makes it easier for users to correct, avoiding having to delete them to rewrite them, for example, in case they have made a mistake when writing a word.
Now, WhatsApp has made this feature available to testers for the beta version 2.23.10.13 of the social network for Androidas you have seen WaBetaInfo.
With this release, some testers can now edit text messages once they’ve been sent in both single-recipient and group chats.
Likewise, this medium has detailed that there are no limits in relation to how many times can you edit the same message. However, these changes must be made in a maximum period of fifteen minutes from the time of shipment. After a quarter of an hour has elapsed, the message cannot be edited again.
As explained by the aforementioned portal, this time frame for editing messages is limited to fifteen minutes for avoid compromising the information and understanding of the conversation, since if the messages can be edited unlimitedly and when desired, there could be failures in the understanding of what is spoken.
Similarly, when the message has been edited, a message appears. ‘edited’ label inside the message balloon, to indicate that it is not the original and clarify to other users if a message has changed.
In addition, another of the characteristics of this function is that the messages they can only be edited on the device from which they were sent and not from other devices where the account is synced.
