What lies ahead for the British monarchy after the death of Queen Elizabeth II?

First modification:

At the age of 96, Queen Elizabeth II passed away at her Balmoral residence. After coming to the throne in 1952, she led the longest reign in British history. Her son Carlos de Ella, henceforth known as King Charles III, will lead a grieving country as the new king and as head of state for 14 Commonwealth territories. What awaits the world’s most famous monarchy with the disappearance of its longest-serving representative? We analyze it in this edition of El Debate.

We address the future of the British monarchy after the death of Elizabeth II from the hand of our guests:

– Natalia Sobrevilla, historian at the University of Kent.

– Bárbara Díaz, historian and professor at the Universidad de los Andes in Chile.
