Outside of politics, where the debate about If the State Attorney General should or should not resign, the talk in any group or event has been the controversial departure of Leire Martínezcommunicated by Van Gogh’s Earafter 17 years as the group’s vocalist. And, unintentionally, his predecessor, Amaia Montero, has become the co-star. Leire or Amaia, who should voice the charismatic band?
Celebrities have found themselves involved in this situation as soon as they have set foot on the street. Each one has resolved as best they could, but always transmitting empathy and affection to each of the singers. Pastora Soler, in the interview that today publishes LA RAZÓN, settles the controversy with a declaration of intent: “I would welcome Amaia and Leire with open arms”. Amaral, who this week performed a cappella at the fourth edition of ELLE magazine’s charity gala in support of the fight against cancer, has also expressed his sadness at the breakup. “Of course it surprised me and made me sad for Leire”. At the same time, he left some words of support for both: “They are both wonderful artists, great singers, great show women, and I hope that they both have the future they deserve from this moment on, whether with them or without them. Likewise, we love the boys very much.”
Waiting for the protagonists themselves to clarify the background of this march or the aforementioned possibility that Amaia returns to the group with whom he shared eleven years, the one who ended the controversy was the singer from Malaga Mario Jefferson who, with a crazy twist, has offered a version of “The last waltz” imitating their voices. This was the first single from La Oreja de Van Gogh with Leire’s voice, in 2009.
The imitator is the third classified in Operación Triunfo 2011, the edition that Pilar Rubio presented on Telecinco. The singer has become popular for his videos in which he imitates voices, both male and female.. Curiously, the publication with the voices of Leire and Amaia was uploaded in 2020 and has now gone viral again, as have other recordings in which he pays tribute, together with Keunam, to Van Gogh’s La Oreja. Judge the result:
The idea of hearing the singers’ voices packaged is unlikely, at least for now, but the imitation has confused more than one of its followers.
