“What did they do to them?”, faces of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 divide the opinion of the players

Insomniac Games released a new trailer this week to detail the story of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Players were delighted with what the title will offer on a narrative level; however, they were puzzled by one detail: the change of faces in the main characters.

The community instantly took notice of the redesign of Peter Parker, Miles Morales, and Mary Jean. While some players were happy with the adjustments, many others were disappointed, believing that the characters don’t look as they should. This generated an intense debate on social networks that divided the opinion of the fans.

Several comparisons are already circulating on social networks that show the faces of Peter Parker, Miles Morales and Mary Jean throughout all the recent games of the franchise. As expected, the changes in Parker were the most commented, since the character’s face had already changed previously with the premiere of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered.

Some fans believe that the character now looks better, but there are also people who still regret the original change, preferring the character from the original PS4 version. The changes to Miles were generally well received; However, a part of the community thinks that his face has changed too much.

One of the most commented changes was that of Mary Jean. Many players believe that the character now looks much older, when relatively little time has passed between game stories. Other fans believe that her changes suited her well, as they reflect her maturity.

Thus, the opinion of the community was divided, because some love and others hate the new faces to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. There were also people upset with Insomniac Games for making so many changes to the characters’ faces.

“It’s amazing how Peter Parker has a different face in each game and version, they don’t become clear. I still stick with the original PS4, the one with the most personality. If something isn’t broken, don’t touch it,” said one player.
