According to the royal family’s website, the anthem rose to prominence amid the patriotic fervor that followed Prince Charles Edward Stuart’s victory over King George II’s army in Scotland in 1745, and was sung in London theatres.

Coins and stamps
Newly minted and printed coins and banknotes will appear with the face of the King, just as the image of the monarch currently appears on British currency. The old coins and bills will continue to circulate until they are gradually replaced over time.
However, since the monarchy was restored after Oliver Cromwell’s 10-year republic in 1660, it is traditional for the monarch to look in the opposite direction from his predecessor. In this way, Queen Elizabeth II looks to the right and, therefore, Carlos must be portrayed looking to the left. During Elizabeth’s 70-year reign of her, five different portraits of her were used on her coins.
Postage stamps will also be updated with the portrait of the new king.
the actual figure
The Royal Cypher – the monogram used by the monarch, which currently features the queen’s “EIIR” seal below an image of St Edward’s Crown – will also change. The cipher is reproduced throughout the UK and appears on red post boxes and even police uniforms. According to tradition, both the figure and the royal coat of arms will change with a new king.
