What can we expect from Apple's WWDC23: iOS 17, virtual reality and more

Apple’s developer conference is just around the corner and it will be focused mainly on software, but there are sure to be surprises. This is all that can be seen at WWDC on June 5.

This WWDC23 is celebrated on June 5the Apple developer conference, where the Cupertino company takes advantage of to present the new versions of their operating systems and, where if nothing goes wrong, the new version for the iPhone will be seen.

From Apple they have already been warming up their engines and make it clear that “It’s going to be their biggest and most exciting event to date”.

“WWDC is one of our favorite times of the year at Apple because it’s an opportunity to connect with the developers from around the world who make this community so great.says Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relationsin Press release.

However, What is Apple going to present at WWDC 23? There are certain things and others that have all the ballots to appear in the conference. Let’s go in parts.

Safe: iOS, iPadOS, watchOS and tvOS

The usual thing in the Cupertino company is that the June developer conference is designed to present software and there is no doubt that Apple is going to get out of the plan. That is to say, news of iOS, iPadOS, watchOS and tvOS will be seen.

To be more exact, WWDC23 will focus on iOS 17, iPadOS 17, watchOS 10 and tvOS 17, so for the iPhone 15 we will have to wait until September.

As for the flagship software, everything indicates that iOS 17 will have substantial changes, including new features for the Dynamic Island, major UI changes and control center customizationsettings in the camera app and much more.

The most interesting thing, without a doubt, is that 2 apps can be used at the same time, interactive widgets will be included on the home screen and apps from outside the App Store can be downloaded, due to the new Digital Market Law.

And as usual in this type of launch, Apple will also bring improvements in terms of performance, efficiency and stability. That is, consumption of fewer resources to improve autonomy and adjustments to provide more power.

As for iPadOS 17, everything points to a minor update, although that does not mean that it will remain blank. A more customizable home screen is expected, widgets to place where the user wants and the best: multi-user support, to create several profiles as if it were a computer.

For watchOS 10 the most relevant will be the possibility of using custom designs from third-party apps and extra functions related to health to give the device more versatility.

Finally, tvOS will have slight aesthetic changes to the interface and everything indicates that it will release features focused on the rumored mixed reality glasses of the company.

The rumored: Apple AR / VR, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro

So far everything is real and now the fun begins: the rumor mill.

Apple has already confirmed in the press release that WWDC 23 will be focused on software, but there is always room for surprises.

And, without a doubt, the biggest surprise of all would be the public presentation of its rumored virtual reality glasses.

Apple’s AR/VR device is an open secret and countless rumors have already been written about its features, price or operating system.

In addition, the Cupertino firm has left some clues on the table with a “AR experience” on their official event page where gives iPhone and iPad users a button to “See an AR experience”.

It’s still too much to hope for, but the fact that the company tinkers with this technologymakes it clear that augmented reality or virtual reality will have some kind of presence at the event.

Beyond the star dish, Apple could also present the next generation of MacBook Air or a MacBook Pro with an M3 processor. Last year they already did the same with the M2, so it’s not a crazy idea.
