( Spanish) — This Monday, July 17, the winter holidays began in many Argentine provinces and will end on the 30th of the same month. The period generates great tourist movement throughout the country.
Those who decide to take a trip to rest and enjoy, choose Salta as one of the main destinations, according to the Argentine Tourism Observatory (OAT). From that city located in the northwest of the country you can plan family excursions in the ravines, visit towns such as Cafayate and it is ideal to go with children.
The OAT estimates that Catamarca, another province in northern Argentina, will receive a tourist boom, since it is one of the main places to which Argentines moved during the winter break. Mendoza, in the Cuyo region, renowned for its vineyards, wineries and its panoramic points in the mountains, is also expected to be visited by thousands of tourists in the last days of July.
Likewise, Tandil, in the Province of Buenos Aires, is another of the destinations chosen by Argentines, along with the City of Buenos Aires, full of museums, shows and a vibrant cultural nightlife with gastronomic proposals for all tastes.
Some of the most important tourist centers during the southern winter are in Patagonia. In towns like San Martín de los Andes and San Carlos de Bariloche you can enjoy the snow in the different ski centers. There it is possible to rent ski equipment or go with your own. Then, enjoy a regional gastronomy and handmade chocolates available in the shopping centers.
On the website of the Argentine Government, a list of activities to be carried out during the winter holidays is proposed.
