Oct. 13 () –

French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday asked his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, to respect the territorial integrity of Ukraine and end the war since “he does not want a world war.”

Macron, who has assured that the international community is seeking to stop an increase in violence in the face of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, has stressed that France “is helping Ukraine to resist on its territory, never to attack Russia.”

“We do not want a world war,” he stressed in a message broadcast through his Twitter account. “Putin must stop this war and respect Ukrainian territory,” she added.

In this regard, he explained that Paris continues to send weapons to Ukraine under the agreed terms. This includes the supply of Caesar self-propelled howitzers to carry out “counter-offensive work”, as well as radar and missile systems to protect against air attacks.

Macron has assured that France will continue to support “the Ukrainian resistance” through military assistance, as he pointed out in an interview with the France 2 television network.

In addition, he has emphasized that he is ready to discuss the matter with Putin “at any time” and when necessary. “I will speak with him at some point, I hope it will be as soon as possible. All parties must return to the negotiating table and there will be consultations about it,” he said.
