How is the sale of Citibanamex going?
Early last year, Citi CN announced that it would sell its citibanamexarousing the interest of various potential buyers, many of whom have been abandoning the process.

Another possible group of investors would be headed by magnate Germán Larrea, who owns the mining giant Grupo México.
Following the announcement of the sale of the consumer banking business – branches and customer accounts, cultural heritage that includes buildings in the Historic Center; the payroll credit business, cards, mortgages, cars and SMEs, as well as Afores and insurance- in January 2022, aroused the interest of institutions such as Inbursa, Santander and Banorte; in addition to businessmen such as Ricardo Salinas Pliego and Javier Garza.
However, little by little they lost interest in Citibanamex, leaving Mifel and Larrea in the final stretch.
