1. Advisors, actively accompanying student teams and their
research projects and school innovation.
2. Disseminators, carrying out workshops and various participatory activities with the

schools, raising needs of the territory, which are addressed jointly
among the various social actors through the Explora Program.
The person in charge of the program, Alexis Catalán, comments that the vision for this new cycle is
“That those who participate in this network can have a relevant experience of linking
with the territory, by contributing to transdisciplinary experiences of school communities that are addressing issues of innovation, research and inquiry of the territories or by carrying content such as workshops or activities”.
Since 2019, Explora La Araucanía has been linked to more than 350 establishments in
the region, linking student projects with experts from various areas.
“During these 5 years, specialists from 12 universities in the country have contributed together with the
Explora La Araucanía team in programs that promote active citizenship and scientific thinking in students, teachers and school teams from the 32 communes of
the region in a practical way and linked to academia, in search of solutions
based on evidence”, explains Catalán.
