Vice President of Venezuela announces 11 arrests for fire in PDVSA gas pipeline

( Spanish) –– The vice president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, announced this Monday on a national network that 11 people are detained for the fire in a gas pipeline of the state company Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) that occurred on November 11 in the state of Monagas, in the east of the country, which left 5 people injured.

“The responsibilities have already been detailed. There is an escaped foreigner. “He left the country the same day he carried out this malicious maneuver that caused the explosion in the heart of the country’s gas distribution,” added Rodríguez, who did not identify the alleged perpetrators or the person who would have escaped.

Rodríguez expressed his gratitude to PDVSA workers and said they have been working since the fire to guarantee gas distribution for the country. And he added that the five injured workers have already been treated and are in the process of recovery.

On November 11, the state oil company reported in a statement that the incident occurred at the Muscar Operational Complex, belonging to the Punta de Mata Division, located in the Ezequiel Zamora municipality of Monagas state and assured that the fire occurred “in strange circumstances” and described it as an “attack.”
