A few days ago we talked about how Google will soon close Stadiaits cloud gaming service, and it will do so by providing refunds to all users who have spent money on the service, whether by purchasing games, DLCs or content within the games themselves, in addition to the necessary hardware, such as a Chromecast or a Stadia controller.
This last point is the important one, because the Stadia controls were -and are-locked for use only on Stadia, so that we cannot play wirelessly on a PC or smartphone with one of these controls. It is true that it can be done wired, but it is not the same.
With this in mind, one would expect Google to release a firmware update that unlocks Bluetooth connectivity for these controllers so they can be used on other devices. Well, although the company has a valid argument in its returns, it is not fair to turn all these controls into electronic waste.
In any case, this is an important detail that users are taking care of the rest and that, actually, it can become a severe e-waste problem Of which we end users can take little responsibility, since it is the responsibility of Google.
