US welcomes ceasefire between Israel and Islamic Jihad

The White House spokeswoman, Karine Jean-Pierre, celebrated the ceasefire agreed between Israel and Islamic Jihad this Saturday night, and thanked the Government of Egypt and Qatar for mediating in the fighting that began five days ago.

“U.S. authorities have worked closely with regional partners to achieve this cessation of hostilities to prevent further loss of life and restore peace to both Israelis and Palestinians.
