WASHINGTON—
The Taliban in Afghanistan released two US citizens on Tuesday in what appears to be a “goodwill gesture,” State Department spokesman Ned Price said, adding that they will soon be reunited with their loved ones.
In a daily news briefing, Price said Washington was still asking the Taliban the need to release any US citizens detained in Afghanistan, but declined to say who they might be and how many people might be held there.
