CENTCOM denounces the launch of three rebel missiles towards the Gulf of Aden and destroys three of its ships in the Red Sea

The Central Command of the United States Armed Forces (CENTCOM) has denied this Saturday the statements of the Houthi rebels of Yemen in relation to an alleged new attack against the American aircraft carrier ‘Eisenhower’ in the Red Sea, describing them as “categorically false” .
“Recent claims about a successful attack by Houthi forces on the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69) are categorically false,” the US Army said in a statement shared on its account on the X social network.
CENTCOM has noted in the same publication that, in the last 24 hours, the US Armed Forces “have successfully destroyed three Houthi unmanned surface vessels (USV)” in the Red Sea in order to “protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer for U.S., coalition and merchant vessels.”
Likewise, Washington has confirmed that the Yemeni rebels, “backed by Iran, have launched three anti-ship ballistic missiles (ASBM)” from Yemen towards the Gulf of Aden, although they have assured that “no injuries or significant damage have been reported” as a result of this attack.
“This continued evil and reckless behavior by the Houthis threatens regional stability and endangers the lives of sailors in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden,” the Central Command denounced, reproaching the Houthis for “claiming to act on behalf of the Palestinians in Gaza and yet they threaten and have taken the lives of innocent civilians who have nothing to do with the conflict” in the enclave.
As things stand, CENTCOM has committed to “continue to act with its partners to hold the Houthis accountable and degrade their military capabilities.”
These statements by the US Army come after the Houthi insurgency in Yemen announced this Saturday that it had again attacked the US aircraft carrier ‘Dwight D. Eisenhower’ as it passed through the northern Red Sea in an operation carried out “with several missiles.” “ballistic and cruise missiles” and resolved “successfully,” according to the group’s military spokesman, Yahya Sari.
Previously, the Houthis claimed on May 31 and then on June 2 that they had attacked this same aircraft carrier in response to the bombings carried out this morning by the United States and the United Kingdom against Yemen. These attacks were also denied by the North American Army.
The insurgents, backed by Iran, have controlled Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, and areas of the country’s north and west since 2015. The rebels have responded to the Israeli offensive on Gaza with more than 60 attacks against ships with some type of connection to Israel. and they have assured that they guarantee the free navigation of the rest of the ships.
