March 3 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The United States Government has announced sanctions against six entities allegedly involved in the “transportation or sale” of Iranian petroleum products or petrochemicals, affected by the punitive measures imposed against Tehran in relation to its nuclear program.
“The United States is committed to significantly reducing Iran’s energy exports and will sanction those who facilitate Iran’s oil and petrochemical trade,” US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said.
The State Department has indicated that among the entities sanctioned is the Golden Lotus Oil Gas and Real Estate Joint Stock Company, based in Vietnam, for “knowingly participating in significant transactions for the transportation of petroleum products from Iran.”
Two companies based in China and another based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have also been sanctioned, as well as Shiraz Petrochemical Company and Bushehr Petrochemical Co, both based in Iran. On the other hand, it has identified 20 vessels of these sanctioned entities as blocked properties.
Lastly, he recalled that all the properties and interests of the sanctioned entities that are in US territory or in the possession or control of US citizens must be blocked, while all those involved in transactions with them are exposed to new sanctions.
“These designations underscore our continued efforts to apply our sanctions against Iran. We will not hesitate to take action against those who try to bypass our sanctions,” Blinken concluded.
