US intelligence briefs Trump on Iran's 'real' attempts to assassinate him

September 25 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence of the United States informed former President Donald Trump on Tuesday that Iran has “real and specific” plans to assassinate him, all this after the tycoon had already been the victim of two attempts to end his life.

“The Office of the Director of National Intelligence today briefed Trump on specific and real threats from Iran to assassinate him in an effort to destabilize and sow chaos in the United States,” said a statement from the former president’s campaign communications chief, Steven Cheung.

Officials have specified that these are “continuous and coordinated attacks” that “have intensified” over the past few months and that they are already working to “guarantee” Trump’s safety and to ensure that the November presidential elections “are free of interference.”

“Make no mistake, the terrorist regime in Iran loves (Vice President) Kamala Harris’ weakness and is terrified of Trump’s strength and determination. He will not let anything stop him or stand in his way of fighting for the American people and making America great again,” Cheung added.

US intelligence has spoken out in the past about an alleged Iranian plot to kill him, which is linked to a broader pattern of threats against former Trump administration officials in retaliation for the death of General Qasem Soleimani in a US airstrike in Iraq in January 2020.
