The embassies of the United States in different parts of the world celebrate the 246-year anniversary of Independence Day with different acts. In Latin America, US embassies have held events and are planning fireworks displays.
The Charge d’Affaires of the United States Embassy in Cuba, Timothy Zuniga-Brown, said in a message on Twitter that “Our focus is to support the Cuban people. It is essential to strengthen civil society, the businessmen who are trying to build a more prosperous economy.”
The US embassy in Cuba said in a message on Twitter on Monday that it reiterated “our commitment to the democratic principles and values and democratic values that we secured almost 250 years ago, of freedom, independence, equality and prosperity.”
In Mexico, the US ambassador, Ken Salazar, said in a message on the occasion of Independence Day: “Two hundred and forty-six years ago, the United States declared its Independence, with a vision that proclaimed “these truths to be self-evident: that all men (and women) are created equal…” He added that: “Today, this nation that was created in freedom wonders, “if that same nation or any other nation thus conceived and dedicated, can resist for a long time”. which was also asked by President Abraham Lincoln in 1863. The answer is a resounding YES! The answer is forever yes.”
In the Dominican Republic, the US embassy celebrated the 246th anniversary of independence on Thursday. The activity was headed by the Charge d’Affaires, Robert W. Thomas. During the celebration, the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Roberto Álvarez, were special guests.
“Today we commemorate the 246th anniversary of the signing of the declaration of independence. On July 4, 1776, the document that gave birth to a nation that, in the words of our first president, was based on the experiment entrusted to the hands of the people, “said Thomas.

In Uruguay, the US embassy is planning a fireworks display Monday night to celebrate the 246th anniversary of independence.
The Charge d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Uruguay, Jennifer Savage, sent greetings to the Uruguayan people for the 246 years of US independence. in which she invited the Uruguayans to join the celebration.
In Argentina, the US ambassador, Marc Stanley, highlighted the importance of “human rights, freedom of expression and democracy” during the celebration of the 4th of July. The celebration took place on Thursday at the ambassador’s residence, after two years of not being held due to the pandemic.
“Our countries share many more values: respect for human rights, a commitment to protect freedom of expression and religion, and the vision that democracy, even with fragility, is the best form of government,” said Ambassador Stanley, on Thursday during the celebration.
In Paraguay, the US embassy said on Twitter: “It’s 246 years of history, victories, challenges and hope, always towards a more perfect union, embracing the ideals of freedom and justice. Today is a day of celebration!
