The United States announced this Friday sanctions against seven individuals responsible for two Iranian organizations specialized in the development of missile programs and in the manufacture of unmanned aircraft delivered to the Russian Army and used during the war in Ukraine.
The individuals hold “leadership positions” at two companies: Qods Aviation Industries (QAI), in charge of the design and production of drones, and the Organization of Iranian Aerospace Industries (OIA), responsible “for oversight of the programs of ballistic missiles in the country,” according to a statement from the Treasury Department.
The United States Government recalls that this new round of sanctions is related to those declared in September and November against “individuals and entities involved in the production and shipment of Shahed and Mohajer model unmanned aircraft, which Moscow continues to use in its brutal attacks. against Ukraine”.
“The support for Russia provided by the Iranian regime’s Army not only fuels the conflict in Ukraine but also violates the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council,” denounces the US State Department.
“Iran has now become Russia’s main military supporter, and it must end its support for this unprovoked war of aggression that Russia is waging in Ukraine,” the US government added.
