G.SKILL has added to its portfolio new memory modules from the Trident Z5 range with DDR5 speeds of up to 6,800 MHz in kits of two 16 GB modules and latencies of CL32. Little by little we see how manufacturers are increasing the speed of their DDR5 memories as technology advances and new platforms add support.
It will also be accompanied by a kit of two 32 GB modules, that is, 64 GB in total, with the same latencies but a somewhat lower speed of 6,400 MHz.
Both speeds are achieved with XMP profiles and have been tested under the Intel Z690 platform on an ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Hero motherboard with an Intel Core i7-12700K processor.
It won’t be until October when we see the G-SKILL Trident Z5 DDR5-6800 CL32 2 x 16GB and DDR5-6400 CL32 2 x 32GB kits hit the market. They will reach the stores and collaborators of the brand. They thus join the G.SKILL Trident Z5 Neo and Flare x5 that the company recently launched with AMD EXPO profiling technology for new AMD AM5-based platforms such as Ryzen 7000.
