The new SSDs ADATA Legend 970 They represent a significant leap in performance compared to their predecessors, the Legend 960, by taking the step to PCI Express 5.0 x4 (NVMe 2.0) connectivity, achieving greater bandwidth.
Specifically, the ADATA Legend 970 promise up to 10,000 MB/s sequential read speeds and 10,000 MB/s sequential write speeds. They are not the maximum that PCI Express 5.0 x4 can give (in fact, ADATA itself showed us a prototype that reached 14,000 MB/s), but it is a considerable leap from the speeds of the last generation.
These new high-performance PCIe 5.0 SSDs require bulkier cooling solutions than previous models, which is why the Legend 970 includes an aluminum heatsink with its own micro fan to prevent thermal throttling on the controller and reduce speeds.
Inside we have memories 232-layer 3D NAND with an integrated SLC cache that achieves random access speeds of 1,400,000 read and write IOPS. Its price is still a mystery, but the company has announced that it will come with a 5-year warranty.
